Saturday's screenings of shorts will include The Throwaways, directed by Bhawin Suchak and Ira McKinley, explores the experience of activist filmmaker and ex-con McKinley as he works for positive change in his upstate New York community. In The Devil Goes Down, featuring Michael K. Williams, a boy is challenged to a game of basketball by the devil, while Habeas Corpus, featuring Jamie Hector, tells the story of a man who can't get over the death of his father steals the body from the funeral home. Two Columbia filmmakers will be represented: Christoph Rainer'sRequiem for a Robot and Miroslav Macala's Street Singer.
