The Hagop Kevorkian Center for Near Eastern Studies at New York University presents a discussion with Lila Abu-Lughod, professor of Anthropology and Women's and Gender Studies at Columbia University, on her new book Do Muslim Women Need Saving? (Harvard University Press, 2013) and Suad Joseph, professor of Anthropology and Women's Studies at the University of California Davis, on the new volume she edited, Women and Islamic Cultures: Disciplinary Paradigms and Approaches, 2003-2013 (Brill 2013).
