Sufis in America: The relationship between the New York and Philadephia communities of the Halveti-Jerrahi Tariqa

"The Jerrahiyya has several communities in the United States and North America, including Toronto, California, New York, and Philadelphia. The communities in New York, and California are amongst the two oldest Jerrahi communities in the US, while the Philadelphia community is not as established as the other two. This thesis will focus on the relationship between the Chestnut Ridge Community in New York and the community in Philadelphia, which began in 2005. Specifically the thesis will explore the imaginary and metaphysical elements that bind their communities together."
