Terrorism Expertise in Bulgaria Through the Perspective of the Burgas 2012 Attack
Author: Elena Radislavova Radeva
"This thesis will argue that the Burgas [Bulgaria] bombing in 2012 became a borderline event, which triggered a debate and interest on terrorism that had not existed before. There is a clear emergence of a terrorism expertise field, which follows dynamics observable in the more general notion of terrorism studies. Even though the political and security discourse are important, this research project does not aim to delve on them or analyze the attack itself, the investigation, or responsibility of Hezbollah, nor the political implications this act of violence brought. It will strictly focus on the scholarly impact of the event."
